Rob de Loë holds the University Research Chair in Water Policy and Governance at the University of Waterloo, and is Director of the multi-university Water Policy and Group (www.wpgg.ca). Previously he held the Canada Research Chair in Water Management at the University of Guelph.
During the past two decades, Rob has written extensively about water management and governance in relation to topics such as source water protection, water allocation, and climate change adaptation. His advice on water policy and governance concerns is widely sought by government and non-government organizations. He is a frequent speaker about water to audiences that include both leaders in business and government and members of the general public.
During 2008-12 Rob chaired the Advisory Panel for the Royal Bank of Canada’s Blue Water project, a $50 million, 10-year charitable grant program to support fresh water conservation, protection and accessibility. In 2010, in recognition of his contributions to graduate education, he was awarded the Award of Excellence in Graduate Supervision at the University of Waterloo.
