Dr. Diane Dupont is the Interim Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies at Brock University, as well as, a Professor in the Economics Department and a researcher with Brock’s Environmental Sustainability Research Centre. She is the Scientific Director of the Water Economics, Policy, and Governance Network. Brock has awarded her both a Chancellor’s Chair in Research Excellence and the Distinguished Research and Creative Activity Award. Her research program concentrates upon examining ways to encourage more efficient and sustainable use of water resources both on the supply and demand side. On the supply side, she investigates factors that identify which water utilities operate most efficiently and sustainably. On the demand side, she employs non-market valuation approaches to value water and its many services. In addition to her work in the field of economics, she also works on transdisciplinary projects relating to water with researchers in fields such as engineering, hydrology, nursing, geography, and agriculture. She is an Associate Editor for Water Resources Research, Canadian Journal of Water Resources, and Water Resources & Economics and has been a board member for the Canadian Water Network. She is also a Research Associate of the Centre for Water Economics, Environment and Policy at the Crawford School at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.
